One Small Voice Asking to be Heard

This morning and I was reading about the John the Baptist as he is crying out in the desert. This prayer came to me, that maybe I could be one small voice, as we all could.

One small voice

in a world of many voices

One small voice asking to be heard

Saying we are the beloved

children of God

Each one with goodness

and born with the loving

hands of our creator

Love one another as

I have loved you

Jesus tells us

Oh please my brothers and sisters

Let the world know that one

small voice can be heard

One small voice can tryumph

over the voices of hate, greed, and violence

Then we can share in the joy

which is beyond any happiness

 that the world can give!
