My child looks at me with

big blue innocent eyes and

asks, "mommy why do people die?"

Sometimes the most simple

questions may be the hardest to answer

I take a minute and wonder

what  can I say so she isn't afraid of death

yet something that is honest and sincere

I slowly turn to her and answer,

"Sometimes people have lived the life

that they were created to live.Jesus welcomes

them to a place where they feel more love than

you can imagine and where there isn't any pain.

They are very happy after they die.They don't want

to leave their family and friends, but they have done

what they were born to do."

The little girl smiled and said,"Jesus must love

us very much to give us a happy place to go

to when we die."

I hugged her and said ,"Oh yes, He loves us and he loves you.

You are very special to him."

Then I kiss her good night and she falls asleep smiling.
