Honesty begins with me

Looking at myself with eyes

of compassion yet wide open

Looking into areas that need to

be rearranged or slowly changed

into faith and perseverence

Looking with the heart of Jesus

Seeing the deep light and love

he has placed within me

Honesty sometimes is very difficult

yet I need to be honest with myself

so I can be honest with others

How can I live my faith, forgiveness,

and ;love unless I have learned to

experience the love within me

and ask forgiveness from Jesus 

How else can I learn to forgive myself

I can not completely forgive others

unless I am first able to be honest

and forgive myself

Jesus, please help me be honest

with myself and you

You know everything about me anyway

Honesty is a journey I will take
