From my book.

The stress of our
day consumes are
thoughts and actions

Things to get done
Deadlines to meet
Troubles to solve

Yet in the turmoil
we feel a gentle
breeze of refreshing tranquility

We let it calm our heart
We rest in its
soothing cool serenity

Then we hear the
voice of creation say
Be not afraid, go in peace

We take some deep breathes
and laugh at ourselves
What was it we were so stressed about?

What does this poem mean to you?

Today I will rest in the peaceful love of my heart
Serenity is within my reach

Reflection

There are so many situations and troubles we deal with each day. It can be at work, home , or even with friends. We worry about all sorts of things and our heart works overtime as our blood pressure rises.
There are things to get done and responsibilities that need to be met. We are like a train without brakes going down a hill. The only thing is just like a run away train eventually we will bump into something that makes us stop, and usually very abruptly and shocks us into remembering what is really important.
We can stop that run away train before it loses control. In each of our lives we can always take ten minutes at least three times a day to take a deep breathe and notice creation. It might be a bird or maybe your dog. It could be a flower or a cloud in the sky.
We need to remember if we don’t relax and take care of ourselves we can’t be fully attentive to people we love. We will be to exhausted from the stress we put ourselves through.
How many times have we been so anxious about something or frightened and then a week later can’t remember what it was that was were so upset about. Or it happened to turn our fine.We put ourselves all that worry for nothing.
This week try and focus ten minutes on being mindful of nature or anything that helps us relax. Your heart will thank you.

What does this reflection say to you?

Thought for today
Today I will rest in the peaceful love of my heart
Serenity is within my reach

At the end of your day, turn the page and read the poem. Let peace be your guide today.

As a mother comforts her child
you comfort me

You speak my name
and my soul dances with joy

You sing melodies of love
and music fills my heart

You create life giving water
which flows through my being

Your light shines within me
to guide me on my way

Compassion is, my all in all
Creation my strength

May I bring your loving presence
to the world this day

What does this prayer mean to you?

We can experience peace and calm
Imagine a serene place where you feel loved and cared for.

A great reflective piece Cindy! We all live life - and life without Jesus just does not compare to life in His Spirit. Amen

Stuff You Can Say Everyday by D. Mullis

My son wrote a book of his personal, one liner quotes. Never underestimate the power of simple statements! A very interesting read!
