Was the Night Before Christmas

This is a take off of the traditional story. But this time Jesus visits and not Santa Claus.

 Was the night before Christmas

My heart  waiting in prayer

Hoping that Jesus would

soon be there

My soul was dancing

singing a song of joy

Tonight we would welcome

a holy baby boy

I waited and soon

hearing a whisper so soft

I listened with open ears

I didn't even cough

The words were loving

and my heart beating fast

It was Jesus!

It was Jesus!

It was Jesus at last!

He smiled and held

my hand in peace

My worries now gone

My fears released

A new heart  within me

Renewed faith and love

How can I thank him 

with the angels above

He laughed as he 

answered my prayer that night

Merry Christmas to all

and to all a good night!
