Unrequited Love
I’m fighting heartache everyday from a love that is not wanted
My heart aches and hurts continuously, but still remains undaunted.
How do I carry this feeling, an emotion so intense?
How do I live each day when there is no recompense?
Does she know of my affection and the burden that I carry?
Alas, she does! T’was my undoing, revealing my love! So daring.
She has no guile, no heart of stone, and lives with girlish glee.
But, has no place nor wanting for the love that comes from me.
She loves my adoration, our talks and conversations
A friend she remains and will always be my source of inspiration.
Once a muse who stood afar, and in silence I adored her,
Free to worship, admire, and love ... to pen my poetry for.
My heart is cursed to possess such love, a love that is so great.
But, I have no cure, no antidote to release and liberate.
And much like Romeo for his Juliet, I would gladly give my life
For this love I carry cuts through my heart just like a lover's knife.
So here I remain…to feel the pain of a love that knows no bounds
In life my love echoes its restraint, but in eternity shall resound.
(no true r words were ever penned from a poet's ink and quill, alas, love from her will not be returned now or ever will)
Writing the woods will heal the soul.
So deeply moving and full of tender affection. Almost like a love song...love not returned can never become "friendship".
