A mirror of life: what it could be, what it should be. Oh, would that it were.

Poem Artwork

All about us there is only beauty and harmony, much as we should be and be seen. Look there! Trees of stately art. Some lush deep green while others profusions of reds, yellows, golds, and warm browns; leafy arms ever uplifted in homage to our Creator while offering an arbor of protection to all who seek shelter. Yielding and springing back from repeated assaults of tumultuous storms yet providing a hideaway for small gentle brown eyes wide with glowing fright.

Over there! Flowers skipping merrily across meadows soft, their rainbow faces upturned to bask in brilliant warmth of sunlight, each unique heady perfume delighting our senses, always creating joyful bliss and gaiety, uplifting spirits when given of love.

Oh, and look! Looming majestically, distant purple mountains rising to meet white puffy clouds, glistening peaks greeting a morning sun to reflect its hidden pinks and blues, purples and lilacs and gold. These towers of strength symbolize endurance throughout the ages and challenge to adventuresome spirits in each of us.

Ah, but the crystal blue-green sea beckons and calls, a plaintiff whisper relaxing and soothing to the soul. Romantic in its ebb and flow, a silvery reflection of moonlight and star-filled nights, as it whispers secrets in its depths inviting each one to search their hearts, share their mysteries as it mirrors life.

A haunting wail echoes across deep oceans as a graceful seagull spreads its wings in hypnotic flight, its beauty and elegance daring our soul to reach out— take a chance, be not bound by earthly treasures, see a world as a whole laced abundantly of loveliness. Then an eerie melody from a lone buoy bell joins in mystical song of soaring gulls, the sea and the life it yields— a symphony of love.

But, the greatest mystery is a child lifting pudgy arms in love, filling our hearts with its uninhibited laughter, stirring our souls when it cries in hunger and pain. So trusting, it reminds us we too were once a child, somehow now lost. Oh, to watch the abandoned joy of a child and live again.

Why, even a gray rainy day offers unique beauty all its own as it cleanses the world and nourishes the soil. Its drops of moisture lovingly, magically scattered about to sparkle like diamonds beneath a rainbow of promise. And a mist creates a mystical fantasyland as its cousin fog rolls in from the mighty sea to isolate each individual world for introspection. A time to think, solve and resolve, to prepare for the brilliance and warmth sunshine will bring.

All these amicably sharing space, a mirror to life wherein there is no mystery— only answers. For these are the universal language of the world to be shared without giving, heard without speaking, felt without touching— all our senses stimulated to vibrant life without fuss. Yes, a language of purest love without barriers. It is not questioned. It is just accepted.

Would that love for one another were so. Can it be? Look around— it can...it can...it can. And, it starts with you and me. Oh, let it be...let it be...let it be.
