No one knew where we were going when we started out
And no one knows yet, but how much does it matter?
We're happy with what we have, even if it's only ourselves
And the sky, and the sun, and the moon, and the stars.
A never-ending story more than one plot,
And all the strands matter: they're part of the whole.
Who knows where it started, or when it'll end?
Does the meaning of life matter when we have
Something to lean on and someone who cares?
Does it matter if we won the game years ago
Or if our opponent is unbeatable?
The journey is the laughter and the joy;
Wherever we go, we'll always be smiling.
No reason to scorn the tears for small hurts
As it'll get better. You know it'll get better.
If tomorrow never comes, if there is no time,
We can just make the most of what we have left
And if we end our lives laughing, we didn't strive in vain.
