Let Me Tell You a Story

Let me tell you a story
Of hopelessness and defeat.
Conquering of the weak
By the strong and elite.

Let me tell you a story
Of dread and of drifting
Into a dark dark sea
The winds ever shifting.

Let me tell you a story
Of hope and rebirth.
A new life ahead
Upon a new earth.

Let me tell you a story
Of great creation.
People so different
Things beyond imagination.

Let me tell you a story
Of Creatures of Power
Pegasus and Dragons
That above all men tower.

Let me tell you a story
Of secrets revealed.
Dreams of control.
A chink in the shield.

Let me tell you a story
Of death and betrayal.
Secrecy and plotting
A well known tale.

Let me tell you a story
Of chaos and fear.
Uncertainty in trust
Loss of those dear

Let me tell you a story
Of hope rediscovered
Hope that is tortured
And with sin covered

Let me tell you a story
Of the sun gone dark
All good gone evil
No more the magic spark

Let me tell you a story
Of the Servant of Sight
How twisted humor and tricks
Brought shattered hope delight

Let me tell you a story
Of how hope returned
And brought ultimate destruction.
How everything burned.......

Giving Myself 'A' Reason For Going On by RickthePoetWarrior

A homonymless man writes shows what it's like to look up the laid he skirts when you’re lying prone(d) to the sidewalk, beer / joint / needle dangling from your hand /lips / arm.
