Imagine the Possibilities
What if we each had a reason to cheer
What if we all knew why we are here
What if we lived for every new breath
Would we even have time to think about death?
What if we had no reasons to kill
What if the rain washed them out of our will
What if we each planted one tree today
What would the sun and the sea have to say?
This world is a diamond though craggy and rough
It’s ours to cherish to polish and buff
Why must we listen to those discordant voices
Who insist that we make the very worst choices?
God gave us a brain in order to think
He expects us to use it for more than a wink
He molded this world full of beauty and life
Not to rack it with fear or fill it with strife.
No one has the all the skills that we need
It’s easy to fail so hard to succeed
Still we have the resources and most of the tools
Let 's not entrust them to knaves or to fools.
Can we sort it all out and call upon reason
Can we transform discord into harmony’s season
Can we find the resolve to pool our abilities
And reward ourselves with fresh possibilities?
