Time to Live, Time to Love
Across the vast expanse of space disturbing every particle there
intrudes the invisible dimension—
In silence it investigates
It neither foments nor insinuates
While we stir up our own intentions.
Accused of coming and going and reaping and sowing
Of moving too fast or too slow—
We heed it or ignore it
We scorn it or adore it
Still, like a moving finger writes with crisp indelible flow.
We pray it limits our losses and extends our gains
Enhances our pleasures and quiets our pains--
We cannot change it
Or rearrange it
Just hoping it soothes our souls and unties our chains.
What is this thing we cannot see, we cannot touch
where does end?—
To philosophers we seek
To logically critique
And give us the answers, help us transcend.
Older now and in calmer currents I think of those who
fell and now must know—
More blessed than I
To find out why
Time is neither friend nor foe.
Live blindly and upon the hour, take roads less
travelled by—
Seize the day
The poets say
For tomorrow we all must die.
To live beyond our intentions, to love beyond
our needs—
Throwing caution to the wind
Looking deep down within
Making time for better days, better plans, and better deeds.

Your extraordinary, poetic words, Edward, have seized
on many senses....
In all the Universe, marvelously arranged, equal, loving,
romantic, generous, and obeying certain laws....still dimly
understood by limited human mind - no being able to grasp
the Mysterious Forces moving the Constellation...only human
life seems to be happening randomly, supposed destiny lacks
meaning, and in recent times...we're further and further away
from the simple pleasure to freely enjoy "our time", activity,
space.
We're being caught up, on a global scale, in the new trend
(since 1980's), of living a life of an "unfinished living".
We don't seem to be able to finish so many things...marathon,
working day on 32nd floor of building, repay our home before
bank dispossess our dinner table with "unfinished dinner",
work to retirement being bullying away from our jobs, opportunity,
equality, workplace/society/community...by few, who choose
to dominate.....
Maybe, just maybe...Now is the time to "reboot" the "wrongs"
of modern society and stop...heading down road of no return.
Maybe, just maybe...Now is the time to listen to people
like Leonard Cohen, man with a sense of putting human soul
into words, saying..."there is a crack, a crack in everything,
that's how the light get's in"...In meantime, Carpe Diem.
