Leadership Pledge:  American Style

I am proud of my country, my life and

My opportunity to contribute to each.

I am pro America, anti greed, in favor

Of creating wealth, but more in favor of

Sharing it with all who produced it.

I understand that life is not about me and my needs—

It’s about us and our needs.

I am privileged to serve in a position of trust

In the cause of quality and all things just.

I believe in opportunity for all

Not just for the few

Where talent and hard work

Are rewarded—for me and for you.

Where a poor man can rise

To the top of the heap

And so can a woman

And not on the cheap.

A fair day’s pay for a fair day’s work

With no bonuses at all if you’re a total jerk.

Your personal life is none of my business

I don’t seek perfection but I offer forgiveness.

I believe in honest rules and a safe place to work

For the CEO and for the lowest clerk

I’m not here to make anyone rich

But I’ll help you succeed if you’ve got the itch.

I’ll work hard for you if you do the same

But you come first that’s the name of our game.

Let’s share the successes, the good times

And bad.   We can create a lot

Without being had.
