Would there be any darkness
If there were not any light?
Would there be any wrongs
If there were no guaranteed rights?
Would appearances be noticed
If we all looked the same?
Would a beauty pageant
Be just a confusing game?
We know who is fat
By those who are thin
It’s easy to spot losers
From those who can win.
Short people still thrive
Though they usually look up
But those who can’t sing
Never seem to shut up.
We wander through life
In search of our strengths
We compare and contrast
And we go to great lengths.
We need to find something
That sets us apart
A distinctive quality that says
I’m a rare work of art.
In all of my travels
Nothing tops this one hunt
To find that uniqueness
Where you surge to the front.
And when you discover
That you are just rich
Make certain you’re not also
A real son of a bitch!
Excellent..so well put together and it is true, is it not? The human engrained is one of not just individuality but beyond into ego and sometimes into the extreme into superiority. You have brought that out in a very superb manner.

If once you look out
to found what you find,
be sure not to shout
until your out of your mind.
This fine piece of verse
is a wonderful parable
it might just be a curse
for those that are terrible!
You know just how to write
poems lit to ignite...
you can put up quite a fight,
and your verse has got bite!!
In a post-coup America, an Illinois farm boy is drawn into the resistance by his brother's death. Captured, he is given a choice: betray his friends, or the girl he loves will be lobotomized.
