A Glimpse of Paradise

 A moment comes to each of us
If we are ready to receive it
That dazzles without blinding
When open minds permit.
It shows us things we’ve never seen
A fleeting noble spectacle
Overpowering in its grandeur
Devoid of things polemical.
With many sensual delights
That tip to the verge of ecstasy
Yet knowing it will not last
We see our ultimate destiny.
We sense the joys of heaven
In the glory of its wonders
The silence of its message
It lifts our souls to ponder.
Naysayers never see it
Never splash into its seas
Cannot hear its joyous trumpets
Nor touch its gentle breeze.
This moment grants no favors
Fulfills only what we yearn
It’s just a glimpse of
That promised land
To which we must return.
