Like roaches, the ideology steeped in tribal psychosis and exponentially gathered hatred over the past centuries is what drives each group, be the ISIS, or the next in line. If only is was war as we once knew it, where geographical coveting was the order of the day. Unfortunately, a twisted desire to not just live, but to conquer minds or destroy them, takes their war against us into levitational mode; their desire being not to appear as conquerors of land, (save oil and whatever they can use as leverage to move on) but to be above it all, rendering western thought perpetually endangered. Next stop to them: unfortunately, our extinction. We can only hope western minds can trick them into thinking they can't win, only survive for another day while we design the means to manage the egregious history that just keeps repeating itself.
Well said, Ed. Am convinced that the most effective way to prevent Muslims from killing non-Muslims is to stop trying to prevent Muslims from killing Muslims. The Sunnis & Shia hate each other but, are now, united in their hatred of us. Al-Baghdadi, the leader of ISIS, has a PHD. in Koranic studies and is in lineage to "the profit" MoHamMad. Most acts of terror that he perpetrates reference scripture from the Koran to justify the carnage. Hard to believe that so many apologists for Islam fail to make the connection. Those who continue to insist that Islam is a religion of peace need to read the Koran and to read it in a language they understand. 109 verses in the Koran call for Muslims to wage war against non-believers in order to establish Islamic rule. Really nauseated by some of the nonsense written by people, including AD members, putting the blame on others. Have read a couple of ridiculous examples of utter sophism penned by these naive, self-important pseudo-intellectuals. Much appreciate your clear thinking on the matter and your skill in expressing it.
