We mark our days in hours and minutes
In months and years
As if time were the judge of our thoughts
And our desires;
But this much I know with intuitive
Certainty—

Calendars or time machines.

It roils and wanes
In turbulence and quietness
But never dies.
And with my eyes still shut
Beyond the limits of my imagination
There you are
Still in my thoughts
Still in my dreams
And always
There in my heart.
