The tremors knocked me to the ground,
shock after shock, I couldn’t breathe.
Buried alive by stinging words,
they destroyed all I had once believed,
and my heart went /\_/\_/\_/\_/\_
A wrenching scream of pain escaped.
In the dam there appeared a chasm.
Water rushed from the gaping crack.
It was more than I could fathom,
and my heart went /\__/\___/\____
In rising water, struck by panic,
I prayed for a reprieve that day.
But the fissure had found its mark,
and wanted me to remain its prey,
and my heart went /\____/\____
Broken and swept away,
drained of my very life blood.
I suffocated under the pressure,
and was swallowed by the raging flood,
