Savannah Rae Ann, my angel baby, this is for you. God knew I needed you when he let me concieve you. He knew that I would think of you before myself and in doing so saved my life. You know the story well...But daughter, do you know how much I loved you from the 1st? Even through the 9 months of sickness, and the horrible birth experience, you were worth it all! I love you Savannah....
Mommy

Poem Artwork

When first I knew of you
I was afraid
Afraid that I would fail you
Scared out of my mind
I was so young
Not sure of what kind
of mommy I'd be
I was sick..so sick...
Every morning, all day
Then, one night as I slept
I dreamed....
Jesus came to me
He took my hand and we walked
We were in the clouds
There was no fear
No uncertanties
No sickness
No withdrawals or
hidden cravings
There was only peace
Peace of mind
Peace in my heart
And love..strong..
Unconditional..overflowing..
And as he held my hand
It seemed to feed me with
these feelings that went
straight to you
When I woke I  knew..
I knew that I had been
given a gift
I felt the peace and love still
It was for you, in you, in me
I rejoiced with your first kick
Every little flutter you made
I realized you even more

When they first brought you to me
I was timid, withdrawn for the
breifest of moments
still reeling from the difficult birth
and pain I was in
Then I saw your face...
Your thick head of hair
Soft tiny fingers
and you won
my heart all the more
Watching you take your first step
To your first day of school
You have been a joy
So sweet and loving
Never could I have asked
for a better little girl
Life may not always be easy
We may have some very hard times
But my sweet angel....
Jesus is still holding my hand
And now he holds yours
God knows that I would
lay down my life for you
I would fight the devil himself
To keep you safe
There are no bounderies
to this mothers love
As far as the sky goes
As big as the Heavens are
is how much I love you
Never forget..Not for one instant
You are a miracle, my angel
My sweet Savannah Rae Ann
You are my inspiration

My middle name is Rae too. This is so sweet. My mom gave me a book about mothers and daughters for one of my birthday presents along time ago. Then on her birthday I wrote something in it and gave it back to her. Now every birthday we write something in it and pass it back and forth. The pages are getting covered and its really cool.

I like this because it reminds me of when I first felt my baby kick. I was alone and young too. Today she is a grown woman.
