The evening before they said goodbye
They met and sat huddled together
In a quaint little eatery
Near the San Francisco bay
There they lingered
Within their little hide-a-way
In their favorite booth
In the rear of Willy Dilly's Cafe
The red brick walls were old and faded
Yet so welcoming -- so comforting
The leather padded stalls -- encircling
Keeping treasured secrets within
A fireplace warming -- crackling
Seemingly singing -- so mystifying
Here the lovers sat teary eyed
Oblivious to all except themselves
With reverence -- with broken phrases
They made eternal vows
In devastation -- with hands clutched tight
They cursed their fate -- their approaching separation
Yet they looked forward to one more amazing night
A night filled with both endearment and passion
A night to be remembered amongst many
One of ecstasy -- one that even Eros might envy
Moments of explosive love making amidst sweet tenderness
Moments of breathless and appreciative exaltation
Joyous wonder during the night -- 'til morn of the next day
Eight hours in Paradise -- after leaving Willy Dilly's Cafe
