The road to Kumbalgarh is not a bad one,
Though I must say I have seen better ones;
The dry summer heat is relentless,
And makes the skin go dry and itchy;
The landscape is bleak, dry and brown,
And certainly does not inspire confidence;
My cellphone does not work here,
I cannot catch any of the available networks;
The rooms do not have Wi-Fi connectivity,
So I cannot check my emails.
But wait, all is not bad here.
This is the state of Rajasthan,
So, the colors are vivid and alive;
The resort is on a hill,
So the cool mountain breeze is inviting;
And this is Club Mahindra,
Which means the staff is visitor-friendly,
And the gardens make me feel I am in an oasis.
So, the moment I reach the resort,
I forget the dryness, the heat, the bleak landscape,
The cellphone, the Internet, and so on.
The only words that come to mind thereafter
Are warmth, comfort and happiness.
