BE YOUR BEST

Be your best, Do it Easy, Do It Now.
Your best is your best, not to be
compared with the best of anyone else.

Who are you by nature? The Psalmist exclaims
what is self-evident, "I am fearfully and
wonderfully made, marvelous are your works."

Unlike any other creature or thing you were
created in the image and likeness of God.
You were made to be the best, not just to be,
as Shakesepare asserts in the question, "to be
or not to be."
The why-what-how-when  of  "be your best"
consists of your identity, your character, and
your pursuit of excellence.
Apart from a destrructive or bad way there are
a good, better and best, way. During the

Olympics we hear repeatedly, "Go for the gold!"
Let your utmost desire be, to become possessor
of the gold.
Being your best" means that you reject mediocrity,
exbrace potential living, possess confidence,
compassion, health-consciousness and God-
consciousness. The latter is the source of faith
in oneself and in God.
To "be your best" means that you refrain from
comparring  yourself with anyone else. At the
time of reckoning which, in a certain way, is a daily
matter, the Creator will not ask Abraham or you
"did you do what Moses did?" He will ask you
"did you be your best?"
To reiterate, your best is your best, not anoyone
else's best. Being your best need not be tedious
or a burden. It can be as the title of my book,
"Be the Best: Do It Easy, Do It Now," published
more than thirty years ago, asserts. Over the
years this has been true for me.
What makes it possible for you to "be your best" is
for you to have an attitude of gratitude and with love
focus on your best in every situation which is tantamount
to doing the lovely thing in every situation.

Some great advice in this poem that is written in narrative article form.

What if the image of God was created by, for and from man?
