What happened to the Dream when
hate killed the Dreamer? Do you
know? Will future generations know?

Hate Killed the Dreamer But not the Dream
By Uriah J. Fields

A Tribute to Martin Luther King, Jr.

August 28, 1963, the day of the March on Washington,
a March for jobs, freedom, equality, justice, and
opportunity, Martin Luther King, Jr., in  his speech
to more than 250,00 people gathered at the Lincoln
Memorial in Washington D.C., declared,
                    "I Have a Dream."
This was a Dream on behalf of and for all Americans
of African descent whose ancestors had endured
slavery and for people alive who were subjected to
Jimcrowism, legal segregation and racial discrimination.
This was and is the Dream for Americans of African
descent to enjoy all the rights, privileges and
responsibilites enjoyed and assumed by Americans of
European descentt, also known as white Americans.

On April 4, 1968, 4 years, 7 months and 1 week after
King made his historic "I Have a Dream" speech he
was assassinated in Memphis, Tennessee while
there supporting the sanitation workers' strike.
                    The Dreamer is dead.

Hate, aka  racists, segregationists and white
supremacists, killed the Dreamer but they did
not, could not, kill the Dream. Since the
assassination of Martin Luher King, Jr., the Dream
Alive has  manifested itself many times and in many
ways that included fair housing legislation enacted
one week after King's death, an increase from 4
Americans of African descent in Congress when
King made his "I Have a Dream" speech to a
Congress with 46 in the House of Represenatives,
2 in the Senate and a two-term American of African
descent President today.

Hate killed the Dreamer. But hate could not, did not kill
the Dream. It  takes more than guns to kill the Dream.
The Dream is alive.

AMEN! GOD'S WORD 'NEVER' RETURNS UNTO HIM VOID. KING WAS CALLED BY GOD TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE, TO TURN THE TIDE OF RACISM, LEGALLY, BY LAW. GOD USE THIS INSTRUMENT AND WHEN HIS CALLING WAS DONE, GOD TOOK HIM. AS YOU SAID, HIS DEATH WAS NOT IN VAIN- THE DREAM THAT GOD GAVE HIM...STILL LIVES! THANKS FOR SHARING. LOVE, BLESSINGS AND FAITH... JOYCE * HIS INSPIRATIONS

You're right, it is and will continue to go forward until all men/women who were created equally will be treated equally, "… According to their character and not the color of their skin."
