You stand aside,
and then
jump into my life,
as if it's your choice,
telling me what's best for me.
You tell me
how you
don't like my style,
and how you want me to
work harder, because I need to.
You hold me
as far as
you can from the life I want
so that I can become the one
that you think I should be.
I'll tell you this,
you don't have the right.
You can't just wait until I make a mistake,
and then leap in and tell me I'm wrong,
and tell me how to make it right.
You can't just
expect me to look up
to you, when all you do, is wait for
a chance to take control,
to make me into a 'better person'.
I hope
that you realise,
that one day I'm going to break away,
from this person, and I'll live the life
that I want to,
and all you will be able to do
is sit and watch me.
