~Remembering Happier Days~
Remembering happier days
She watches the youngsters at play
Their outlines grow dimmer by the day
Only hearing bits and pieces of their happy game
Remembering happier days
She sleeps herself closer to the end every day
The world passes by as she dreams
Of the time she could romp and play
Remembering happier days
Her movements are slowed
And pain fills her once limber
Joints and spine
Moving from the couch now
Proves a great effort
In one place is where she likes to stay
Remembering happier times of
Her younger year now an
Old dog in her twilight years
Watching the light fade away
This was written for my dog, Lucy.
Sad write but you captured the emotions well...
God Bless
Michelle~
