Let me not glory in answered prayer,
For what have I done but utter words?
And it pleases You to answer the smallest child,
Even the vilest sinner in repentance is heard.

T’is not the strength of my voice, nor the power of my prayer
That causes these things to come to pass.
But t’is the grace of Your ear and the power of Your arm
That renders my prayer more than mere noise and gas.

So let no glory on me rest for answered prayer
For to utter words is no great thing.
But the praises of Your grace and the power of Your arm
May my lips forever with wonder sing.
