(I wrote this for a themed service at our local church. But it is my experience of the indwelling of the Holy Spirit - an awesome thing when you really think about it!)
Gently, softly You move within,
You who shake mountains.
Tenderly You bind and heal,
You who crush nations.
Patient, ever patient You guide me,
You who counsel kings.
You bear me up as on wings of eagles,
You to whom creation sings.
Is it really You, deep here inside?
Can such greatness in such weakness hide?
And yet there You are and I clearly see,
You are no less God, and I am no less me.
And all power and glory rests within this frame
Of flesh and blood that bears my name.
And I am bold, and I am strong
Because I am in You, where I belong.
And I am me, and I am You
And we are one together.
Not just God, and not just me,
But each a part of the other.
In wonder I join the heavenly hosts
Who by Your Glory are lit.
And tremble as I take my place,
In the symphony of the Spirit.
