“The Prince boy Poet — Lord Author” — Tribute to Sidney Sheldon
Some days I Dream of Jeannie, and reminisce my teens’ time:
I used to think on the narrative’s mind of its creator,
Designing characters, and setting acts to roll and rime.
No matter the age and era, his Quill’s an innovator;
Enlivens mind, and aliment spirit with soul’s enzyme...
Yes, in creative realm he is the eternal locator...
Success, continuous labor, The Patty Duke Show set clear
His rich wise Jackpot, Dream with Music; The Merry Widow
Entered showbiz files as one author three plays staged same year.
Legend of Broadway, — wind of creative seas — and billow;
Domaining shores of narrative, poetic prose souls’ notion
On ocean of plays, novels and films on life and emotions...
Nancy, Hart to Hart, and The Other Side of Me — no fear...
A boy poet sold a poem for three dollars at age ten;
Unique, his goals were blessed by Apollo, there on his side
To sell three hundred million copies of his works, and then
He said: “I love the freedom that the narrative form provides.”
Oh, The Bachelor and the Bobby-Soxer — first for Award —
Received was his crowning glory time that showed his heart’s sides
As Prince of the empire of human letters, true Lord!
