“Catching the wrong bus to the right destination!”

Poem Artwork

Tie-dyed bus stops at the side of the road.
Thought I was headed to “Woodstock.” But to my surprise, it was headed to hell
Dropped some acid and ate some magic mushrooms
Driver with a clown face gave me the evil eye and stole my soul

The twisted-faced passengers had horns and were red with envy
Licked my pure feet with their dirty snake-like tongues
Didn’t utter a word, but didn’t need to bother
The message was loud and clear, and that “bus was not for me!”

Tried to find a friend, but only strangers with bad intentions were present.
When it seemed all hope was lost, a warm glow caught the corner of my vision.
It was a smiling girl who welcomed me into her world with just her heart.
Dare I make a move, or do I expect a trap of deception from this beautiful maiden?

I take a deep breath of electric confidence
Clear my mind of nervous hesitation
Leave that leather seat and work my way down the aisle
Millions of thoughts flood my brain when I reach the young lady

Before I say a word, she speaks to me first
“Hi neighbor, we meet again?”
Confused, I ask the woman if we met before
“You don’t remember me?”

Then, like an act of God, the bus starts to shake with violent trepidation
Everyone on the bus, including the driver, disappears
The lady and I are the only ones left on the bus
And the bus goes completely dark and black

She whispers in my ear, “We are finally alone!”
Alone, I say, from what
“Alone from the evil devil dressed in wolf’s clothing”
Do I trust her, or do I trust the bible

Not one big on religion
I will try to decide what to do next
Before a thought crosses my mind, she puts out her hand
Do I dare touch it

A cosmic gravitational force leaves me no choice
The minute we touch, the two of us are on a deserted beach
Naked we lie in the sand without care at all
As blue waves crash in front of us and music fills the air

The Dead Effect by Terry Vinson

Tales of The Zombie or for soap opera fans, perhaps 'Days of The Dead' might be more appropriate.
