We'd sit on that old swing
whispering sweet nothings
into the ears of our imaginations
that danced lucidly neath a cloudless sky
When we held each other tight
like two vines intertwined in hope
never entertaining being seperate
sweet as wisteria droplets!
While the world sailed on by
there was no tomorrow
just eternity framed in each others eyes
wells leading to an abyss of dreams
With our love we could fly
higher than the treetops nearby
letting go of our swing....
Till that school bell rang!

Oh Ch'erie...I have to tell you whem I began reading this, all I could think about was a childhood friend, even though the verse led me to believe you were musing on a more adult, empassioned love...I kept thinking ..well...what is it that's making me think I should be thinkinfg on more adult lines when suddenly. I discovered, you must have shared the same , special childhood friendships I did. A lovely coincidence!

Love it.
I remember the school bell very well. The kind that has a wooden handle.
Hi Ch'erie, I enjoyed this one, and I do remember the swings, but try as I might, I don't remember anyone whispering sweet nothings or anythings in my ear, left or right. :) I sure missed out on a lot it seems!
Ahh it forces the reader to remember and recapture the sweet innocence of those childhood days when holding hands was more of a turn on then all the lovemaking to come. Your write brought back memories of that first fumbling bumbling kiss in the school yard that was better then all the kisses that came after. Your words bring back all the wonderful memories and what a swinging write.
Till the school bell rang! Lovely humourous touch.
Brought to mind my prowess on a rope swing outside our school playground. I was only 10 but fell head over heals or a girl in my class. I thought she'd be impressed by my tarzan antics on that rope swing. And I hated it when the bell rang. I never did get her onto that swing. Thanks for the nostalgic trip!

You have blown me bloody mind here mate.
Just lovely! And the simile: "like two vines intertwined in hope" was masterful.

(((HUGS))) and much love, your friend in America, Karen Lynn in Texas. :D
Such a sweet and romantic setting you create here in this visual and emotional classic..
And I love the dramatic ending, which could have been one of many conclusions..
Gorgeous graphic underscores this absolute beauty of a write..
God Bless
