Like Sarah of the Bible, my life finds new meanings in middle age.

You woke me, and my satyr roared to life
    you went away, and again, strife.

I began to now myself in newer ways
     to begin again, as new.

Then you came back to me,
    a freind, who lights passion in me anew.

Senesence becomes rebirth;
    my senses heightened to the fragrance of my mother: Earth.

The skill of my hands, your aphrodisiac.
     my commoners knowledge the attraction

The once felt shame of being common;
       now a cause for celebration!

Thank you Great Spirit, God, Pain bearer, Earth maker.
      for making me common, blue collar, ordinary.

For the joy, the pain, the euphoria
       For giving me the excitement of expectation!

There will still be pain, longing, hurt,
followed by joy, and realization,

That life is never over, until it's done:
I love this world.  I am it's son.

This is fine indeed, Monsignor,
a celebration of self acceptance
after struggle.

Birth, rebirth and sometimes a greater rebirth -- isn't that the essence of life. We are then sometimes blessed during our lives by great loves sent to us by the creator, the essence of love, God.

I wish you well on your continuing rebirth. May you find much love and much enlightenment. Your poem is lovely!

Cutting the Cheese by Edward Patterson

Just a simple gathering of the Gay & Lesbian Activist Association of New Birch and Sipsboror (GLAABS) and we plunge down a hilarious ride to perdition.
