Some Sundays

We slog through the sacred

With all the zest of

Lawn-mowing or grocery shopping.

Some Sundays,

the Lord of the Damascus road

beams blindingly on us,

easing work and worry,

waltzing us on the water,

transfiguring us and the looming mountain.

We take some of that

dazzling light

down the hill, through the desert,

out to the store,
through the lawn, the workplace,

and we are gilded.

How could we have missed

the warm golden glow?

We'll look harder

for the burning bushes

from this point on.

The thing about the burning bush is that is is the ordinary old bush that is just trying to get our attention among the commonplace things of day to day, perhaps... just like how the Lord appears to us in the here and now. Sincere and real... and a great message to get our minds focussed with! TY Kate xx

Bess, I do so agree with Eileen. I was in so much darkness, and when I found that prayer helped immensely, I knew that the Lord was there with me always. This is a very good uplifting, beautiful and inspirational poem. Thnx for sharing Bess. May the Lord Jesus bless you, and be with you always, and at your side constantly. With much love in my heart, joy tot he world, peace on earth, & ((((((((((MANY SISTERLY HUGGGGSSSS)))))))))), Barbie
