Spirit of Mill Valley Sophie Boswell © 2014 There’s a little slice of heaven that lies across the Bay Discovered by the Miwoks and still unspoiled today With hills, valleys, mountains, creeks, and five-thousand year old trees These marvels of nature outshine all else, and as far as the human eye sees Muir Forest, ‘Forest of the Giants’, draws you in with her scent As she gently takes you to a place where you’ll reinvent Many of your childhood dreams full of mystery and awe While you marvel at the felling of these, with a single saw Mt. Tam stands like a beacon overseeing land and sea San Francisco beckons; she calls to you and me Where the unspoiled redwood forests that inhabit Marin County Are a truly magnificent spectacle; a Californian Bounty Coming back to earth, where again you see the sky One that is usually blue – a place where grey hawks fly The Spirit of Mill Valley captures your mind once more As it reaches deep inside your soul; there it stays for evermore. oOo
