The Touch Of A Hand
How much meaning is conveyed in a touch of a hand,
Just a gentle touch, has an effect that is grand,
That gentle touch no words to express it’s effect.
A little touch can right a wrong or years of neglect,
A crowded room, conversations noise, a simple touch can regain poise,
No word spoken. A look exchanged, a hand on arm, negates the noise
Two people meet in a crowded street, no time to talk,
A smile exchanged, A touch of hands, understanding comes and on they walk
For all in the world who fall in love, so much meaning in a gentle touch,
No need for words, two minds in tune, that small act that means so much,
A woman’s trust in the power of Christ as she saw him stroll,
If I touch his garment I shall be whole.
That gentle touch so much more powerful than words
Unspoken love, empathy, resolving hurts,
Meanings so powerful, words could not express,
To be touched like this means to be blessed.
It is said that ability has to be backed up by visibility. If anyone forgets to touch or hug his wife, the veracity of what is mentioned in this poem can easily be witnessed. Expression is as important as intention which by itself does not mean anything. The last paragraph is really expressed well.

Again, another expression of the mystery of communication is this poem on 'A Touch of the Hand'.
Inflections in the voice, facial expression, the tilt of the head, the depth of the eyes, speed or hesitation of reply, what is left unsaid, the touch of the hand etc. With all these variables, a simple sentence can be said uncountable different ways and all mean something different. Yes a simple touch of the hand, can communicate so much, so beautifully.
