The subject matter came to me via email, so if anyone knows rhe origin I would be pleased to give credit to the writer. It was an appealing subject to put into verse Enjoy,

Beyond Deaths Door. “ An old man said to his doctor one day “ I’m frightened to die, can you tell me I pray. What lays beyond that dark black door. You have seen so many go through it before’, The doctor pondered this question just a very short while, Then answered the man while giving a smile. “ I cannot say, it’s a mystery to me, where everyone goes, It’s to a much better place I can only suppose.” The old man replied I’m rather surprised, You say your a Christian, yet you cannot surmise”, The doctor smiled as he went to the door, From whence came a sound not heard before, A scratching and whining as he opened the door, Then in came a dog, dancing and jumping all round the floor, Showing such pleasure . excitement and glee. That the doctor remarked,” he’s so pleased to see me,” “ I know for a fact, that he’s never been, Inside this room, to him , it was always unseen, He only knew his master was here, S o in his mind there was but one idea, His master was here, although out of sight, He worked to be with him, tried with all of his might, He never reasoned what else awaited him here, To be with his master was his only idea”, That’s a lot like the question you asked me before, As to what ever lay beyond deaths door. We never will know the answer to that We can be sure it’s where Our Master resides and that is a fact. John W 16/01.04

Excellent poetization of an interesting story, John. Whatever is behind the door, it gives us comfort to think we know what it is. And when we go through it, it will no longer matter what we thought lay beyond. It will be what it will be. Some say eternal tranquility. I can buy that.
