The Tainted World

A couplet poem about security and obscurity



It's the sweetest thing I know;

his favor never fails to show.

My heart keeps beating, I know not how;

his glory and vigor I do hereby avow.

 

In the beginning his Majesty just spoke;

he touches the mountains and they smoke.

Over and over you can read creation's story;

sooner or later you'll perceive all his glory.

 

He renews my strength, even every morning;

with the Lord nothing's ever disappointing.

The Lord does give, the Lord does take;

loving him though is never a mistake.

 

In his counsel there's always security;

the tainted world has only obscurity.

I'll keep my tongue and my belly under control;

who knows, I just may become simply whole.

 

It's the sweetest thing I know;

his favor never fails to show.

His anger for a moment, his favor for a lifetime;

I can rest easy in that kind of clime.

Keeping my tongue under control = so easy compared to keeping my belly under control. I eat cause I'm bored - a bad thing, this poem reminds me of my faults too, but he does give us, and he does take - he knows our needs better I think than we do. Simply devine I call this write, or want to say it is simply devine.
