Covered bridge of the arctic north dripping long limpid icicles spears lamplight's hazy glow lights the way a warm welcome, bids all enter here the echo of hoof beats off the beam walls and the jingle of bells on leather harness all blend with the sound of the sleds swish my heart races at the hollow thumping knowing there is only air and ice flow below yet this old bridge does hold me dear for at least this one more trip across I turn looking back over my shoulder as the bridge fades in distance view much to my glad hearts amazement this bridge of hollow countenance appears to posses a parting smile

I enjoyed the strong vivid images you presented with your poetry. This is lovely!

Quite a journey you've described, Cheryl. Enjoyed reading about it in your poem.
