Healing from physical and emotional trauma is a difficult process
Sometimes I fly/ like a bird/ whose cage/ disintegrates/ take refuge in the sky/ far above dishonored places/ tear-streaked faces/ disgraceful relations/ egregious abominations/ far above the pain inside/ the shame I’d hide/ the way I did as a child/ when I died/ inside/ the victim of homicide/ committed suicide/ and/ untied my spirit/ set her completely free/ from temporal confines/ freed/ ostensibly/ sought reality outside of me/ apart from the place/ where monsters spilled their seminal acids/ reduced my soul to vapors and ashes/ inurned inside black, ethereal clouds/ a voluminous shroud/ where silence shrieks/ out loud/ the way I did as a child/ flying high above the earth/ aloof; disengaged/ embraced the rage/ displaced the rage/ sometimes I fly/ like a bird whose cage disintegrates/ pay homage to ashes/ inurned in the sky/ pay homage to my soul/ consecrated, sublime/ exhume the life entombed inside/ buried alive/ God bless the child/ exhume the life entombed inside/ God bless the child/ alas, to rise/ destined to fly
flying high above the earth/
aloof; disengaged/
embraced the rage/
displaced the rage/
sometimes I fly/
like a bird whose cage disintegrates/
pay homage to ashes/
inurned in the sky/
pay homage to my soul/
consecrated, sublime/
exhume the life entombed inside/
buried alive/
God bless the child/
exhume the life entombed inside/
God bless the child/
alas, to rise/
alas, to fly
The best description of pain, and rising above pain I have ever read. Inspiring
