I just found this one. I was surprised sorting through a very old stack of writing, including ancient stuff. This was written on January 7, 1970!!! It was turned in to English in High School and I was graded 70%. **Grin**

Oh say can you see
Through the smoke and the fog
Your own true love's window
Whom you adore?
Oh why, may I ask
are your eyes watering?
Is it because you cannot
wait til she is by
your side?
No! You say this is not why
your eyes are so bright
Then tell me why
you look so in love?
Oh! I see
It's the smoke and the fog
That burns your eyes bright.
Even for the teacher I commented at the bottom, "As you can see I'm not good at satire."
Is it because you cannot wait til she is by your side?
It could read "Is it because you cannot wait til he is by your side?"
