New Title - A spining world

by Diane C Hundertmark — Read all 30 poems by Diane C Hundertmark

Untitled

By Diane C. Hundertmark

the world is spinning 'round and changing

my life is spinning out and changing

.whirling

turning

at an ever faster speed

more and more

forward --backward

up

and

down

making me ill and tired

unable to talk or think

and yet

there you are

quite and sedate

warm and strong

your arms around me

slowing

my spinning down

your hands

smoothing

the exhaustion from my mind

your words whispered

slowing

the world's spinning 'round

your eyes

drawing

out my thoughts

freeing

my soul

This was written to my husband many years ago for our anniversary.

Now I have given it a Title.

Now that we are going to be at one of those important number of years anniversary this year, I think I may be giving this to him again.

It fits very well since NOW I have fully recovered from the accident I had in 2006 that took me away from writing for time.

Happy Anniversary! This next one will be #47 for me and I would have it no other way.

Problem is, one of us must leave before the other ...

Oh my...this one is old...originally written in 1981? That goes back a long time to be apt still. Excellent work.

It's great to have someone to catch us when we need them to. We're lucky if we have that. I like the style of this poem. You give a feeling of falling (spinning) out of control. Nicely penned:)

It's rather nice, I think. Some people are kites & others are rocks. Both are important. :)

Oh, and the form...so much relate, just waiting for the "you"...WONDERFUL, really love that you spun it, literally onto the screen, and what it 'means', oh, yes! +++++
