Remember Me

by Myra Wexler Darwish — Read all 62 poems by Myra Wexler Darwish

"My latest poem, Remember Me, was written in a melancholy mood during a time when I was actively recovering from a health challenge. The poem captures what I would like my family to know about me after my passing. Writing the poem was therapeutic, and I gained strength in expressing my thoughts. My love for my family is eternal."  REMEMBER ME

 By, Myra Wexler Darwish

Remember me after I pass on,

As a tree that’s seen in the early dawn,

I was never that leaf just hanging on,

I was always green and new.

Remember me when you look at the Moon,

I was born that phase after fullness grew,

Disseminating what I always knew,

Leaving poems & stories behind.

Remember me at the dusk of day,

When the sky is pink, purple, and grey,

Perhaps you’ll even hear me say,

How much I have loved you.

I once tried writing a poem with the same title. I failed. It was too much for me. You did a wonderful rendering.

Much to be remembered. It certainly will be your poems and stories that will endure through time.

Sweetly and honestly expressed, Myra. Very much enjoyed. Glad you're feeling better. Health challenges affect us all. Warm regards.... rlc
