I find delicacy and fragility in these graceful compassionate lines, Judy. The awareness in words is fascinatingly augmented by the painting you have done here. I find myself staring at this figure. If I take her in her wholeness she seems a duality. Her body less regal, her hair accouterment producing some kind of royalty. But it is her face that captures me most of all…if I put my finger covering her left side of face (my right side of her face), she matches her head piece and feeling of ‘crown’ — a bit indifferent to the words of this writing. But if I cover her right side (my left) she appears sad. All that difference is in the eyes, for her nose and mouth stay the same. The power of a person’s face is in the eyes, more than anything I feel. So your painting is every bit as compelling as your writing here. Bravo* ~~ djl

We can do better. Here in Texas, the state had an $89 billion surplus. Our good governor rich from a $200 million settlement when a tree fell on him and put him in a wheelchair, has decreed that the money will come back to property owners and landlords with lower taxes.

He ignores the fact that the homeless are growing in the cities like Houston and the city is scrambling to figure out how to move them so they won't be so unsightly to all of us homeowners. Instead of providing adequate housing, food and other necessities of life.
