And she wouldn't have been there without her remarkable teacher, Ann Sullivan. As I approach near total hearing loss, I can't imagine what it must've been like as a child without the experience of seeing or hearing.

About 1954, when I was in junior high school, we had regular lyceums with speakers. One of them was a lovely middle-aged woman by the name of Helen Keller. She captivated us.

She must have owned quite an amazing soul, to impart so much
and leave behind a legacy :!
