I tried my hand at a poem that actually rhymed, describing my sadness last winter.

I’m very cold, my room is blue. This blanket keeps me warm. I’m getting old, as time pursues I wish that it would storm. Outside its grey, the drops fall down I wonder when I’ll bloom. For now, I lay lazily stay, in my sad, blue, dark room.
"Blue, blue… My world is blue when I'm without you," words of the song comes to mind as I read your poem. Most of us who have been depressed can relate. The only thing incongruent is, "I'm getting old." Hardly true. And, the cadence and rhyme is not as good as that song, but I'm struggling with writing my latest poem today. The idea is to get the reader wanting to repeat the words, and repetition, like in most songs, works well when rhyming.
sadness well expressed
never stop writing

and stay safe and warm.
Tomorrow the sun will shine,
and rainbows will chase away the storm.
