Each One is Rare
The photographs beside the door
Show faces from a time before
Grandparents and others ... gone
And yet their smiles linger on
Reminding me of longer days
Quieter moments, gentler ways
The clock the sun the moon the stars
Each counts and marks the passing hours
But not for them, those captured souls
Who gaze at me beyond time's pull
One moment rendered endlessly
Untouched by today's insanity
Sometimes I wish that time would wait
Suspending deadlines, delaying fate
A moment captured, time to breathe
Remembering what it was to be
A child guarded, unaware
That moments pass....
