Life runs in cycles
Life runs in cycles
and circles, though the loops are never closed
like a spiral
that twists and turns
sometimes so fast your head spins
or so
slow
it seems
impossible.
You’ll never get ahead!
Or even just catch up.
People, too.
They shift and change and
come and go
like the ebb and flow of the tides.
They surprise you
endear you
disappoint you and
sometimes they hurt you
maybe so badly it seems you’ll never recover--
But you do.
You do recover.
And you carry on
even stronger than before.
Every wound leaves a scar
and every scar thickens your skin
solidifies your resolve
and seeds you with wisdom.
Every person
every ebb and flow
has a purpose.
To amuse you.
To comfort you.
To teach you.
Take that purpose with you into the next loop
the next cycle
and let it give you strength
while you build yourself into the person
you are destined to become.
