I sit nestled in my chair leaning back looking at the clock that means so much to me.
Its hands don’t move nor is it vested with knowledge of what day it is, but as I study this work of art I see the hands of time move before me.
Restless, I watch the that sliver of fine gold tick one second at a time.
My thoughts move with each tick as if a gong is being struck throughout my mind.
One second one tick of time and I wonder what just passed me by.
Who thought of me in that one tick?
Who smiled, laughed or cried?
Someone was born and yet another has died.
Lovers are making love, kissing, sharing hopes and dreams.
Children are playing, enjoying life as only they can do.
Fleeting moments passing like dust in the wind conjure up the hustle and bustle of a won-ton world running with a fly by night hanging on by the seat of your pants mentality and yet I sit and watch this clock tick if only in my mind.
Sixty by gone thoughts or deeds perpetuated only in mind not in action.
How many more ticks will pass before I ponder the next minute of my life.
