Once there was a little girl
who lived inside her own little world.
She dreamt of fairies and of angels on wing.
She saw and heard things no one else ever dreamed.
When she was a baby she'd wake without a fright,
and look for the shadows
to walk out of the night.
If her parents awoke and she was not in her room,
they'd find her out
under the full of the moon.
Spinning in circles and singing in chants,
opening her arms to invite them to dance.
They thought her odd and worried their brains,
when she preformed rites over dead cat remains.
Putting the cat into the earth.
Wishing it well until it's rebirth.
She had knowledge well beyond her age,
relatives hoped it was just a stage.
Yet, as she grew she had to accept,
the sacredness of the secrets she kept.
In the deep night she'd often lie dreaming
under the stars that never stopped twinkling,
Who am I really, and where do we come from?
Where will I be when my true fate is spun?
Going to school was a double edged sword.
Seeking so much, leaving so bored...
Snickering, giggling behind her back
every day felt like another attack.
Looking deep inside the ancient mirror
always trying to make things clearer.
"I wonder if I will ever meet
someone just as strange and sweet.
Someone who will understand me
Someone who's soul is gay and free?
Someone who will understand
that spirits come and take my hand.
They lead me to another place
that goes beyond both time and space.
Another seeker of the light
whose aura shines clean, and sparkling bright.
Who visits with their spirit kin,
and loves to reel in windershin.
A friend who sees The Light and The Dark
who shares the secrets of that spark.
Who is also visited by the dead,
Who come to comfort, and pat their head.
Someone to dance among the trees,
someone to trust, love, and believe.
To feel the connection to all there is,
tap into all encumbering bliss.
With all my ancestors and elementals,
I am still seeking my potential."
She whipered her words into that mirror,
everyday, seeking to know herself better.
Then one winter day she did see
this boy her soul once knew.
There and then their eyes did meet and they became as two.
He was complicated, worried and troubled
when they were together their hearts burst and bubbled
over with joy, at the love they had found.
The laughter they made was a spiritual sound.
They spent each night lying under the moon
giggling away all of life's rainbow of blue.
Together they were strong and creative
making their love intense and secretive
They forged a love that could never be broken.
Although, not perfect, harsh words were spoken.
Now and then they would need to part,
but not deep down in their true heart.
Then realizing her souls betrothal
she was the one to woo and grovel.
To be paitient, and kind as a courtesan
to heal his heart of this afflicted connection.
They rekindled their passions in the most ancient of ways.
The last day of festival beneath the Sun's rays.
All of the village was turned out and dressed,
carring cakes, breads, and painted
wedding chests.
Banners of silk, and tall rowan bowers,
twisted with flowers
met over their heads.
The trumpeters sounded loud and keen
alerting us, "Curtsy or get down on one knee!"
The Royal Couple doth approach!
Majestic white horses pulling the coach.
All the people did gather round
to handfast with them,
in the center of town.
As the band and chorus did lift their voices
Her heart was full, as she remembered her choices
to seek out the soul that would try to understand her,
to be true and honest with unwaivering valor.
Then, she did begin her march to the man she adored.
Him holding her heart, her holding the cord.
The Heavens opened brightly ,raining tears of joy,
that he should love this girl, and that she should love this boy.
The showers flowed that day and made lanes into rivers.
Cleansing away the dirt and stains, purifing the sinners.
On that day they emplored the Gods to come and see them wed.
With all family and good friends ready to to stand in their stead.
We ducked quickly into a tent nearby and
made the service there.
Many crushed into the room
there was not a spot to spare.
The girls giggled, and placed a wreath of flowers atop the Brides wet head.
And as the sky did open on her mid-march
She'd lost sight of the bride grooms head.
Oh, how could she loose sight of him
now what should we do?
She looked around quite anxiously
she hadn't had a clue.
Then a freind tapped her shoulder and turned her right around.
A path had cleared, the people cheered
as she caught up her gown
coming towards her, her beloved, eyes locked onto hers.
The smile that spread across his lips
told her his spirit burned.
The preist then spun a flurish of words
with tears and drink it became a blur.
Through the flood, a great feast was eaten
under tents, the gluttonous heathens
ate and drank into the night
with a monsterous bonfire burning bright.
As the rain spilled its last drops
the maidens then, quickly plucked off the tops
of roses in sweet scents and colors
and spread the path to lead the others.
To the tent of the handfasting bed
to consecrate the love they had.
As the party walked round and round they sang of joy... as they blessed the ground.
Inside the tent the bride and groom
looked around the candlelit room.
The flowers were decked everywhere
on alter, carpet, bed, and chair.
The room smelled sweetly with lighted incense,
The party now gone, they hugged and kissed.
They declared their love as husband and wife,
and shared their sweet, strange secrets the rest of their life.
Merry meet and merry part, and merry meet again!
Blessings to you all, our story is at THE END!
Jodi and Nick’s chance for romance was never realized while they were in high school. Now, five years later, they meet again. Will a class reunion be their first—and last—chance at love?
Reunion of Souls is a sweet, contemporary romance abo
I wrote this novel several years ago, I self published and never had it to sell. I have decided to rewrite it and hope to get it published within a few months for people to be able to buy. I had a few copies and gave them to a few family members and
