This symbiotic life we are given can give conflicting emotions in all of us

Giving Thanks

Lord, is not my love for You

Enough to hold in my heart and soul?

Why must I go through

These memories of a life I no longer know?

I ask these questions even though knowing

What the answers will be,

When asking between spiritual growing

And a world that I no longer see…

In my soul, Christ smiles through the tears,

Lifting it from its fear and sin;

Yet in my heart, as I lift her pictures,

This world offers no exit from which to begin…

Blessed by Your love, cursed by worldly need,

I cry salty tears, my soul warmed by the reason of their flow.

Yet in this world my eyes are emptied

Onto dry tracks as the years go.

Thank You, my Lord for your saving grace

For giving my soul an eternity of peaceful rest…

Thank you my love, for briefly sharing your darling face;

For allowing memories of a world at its best.

Hello Thomas,

To give thanks while suffering pain is....WORSHIP. Like Job, we
give God our all and trust His promises that this life is not the end and our lives are in His hands.
