This poem is part of my current work in progress, "Rainbow of Hope." I have recently placed the e-version of Defeating Darkness (the book of poetry and devotionals) on www.lulu.com. Part of the proceeds will go to the Edwin A. Penick Memorial Fund at my alma mater, Randolph-Macon Woman's College. He was my Religion professor, and my favorite professor. I was a Religion major.
Based on Romans 5:3-5 I know you have been suffering, Just waiting for someone to bring, A means to mend what fell apart, Some help to heal a battered heart. I know the pain is bad for you, Completely blocks your life from view, But you must concentrate right now, On what makes life great anyhow. Rejoice in all your suffering, For after winter, you’ll get spring Enduring this brings strength to you, So you will know just what to do. From the strength, you will have hope, That through all times you can just cope. No matter who may turn on you With hope and God, you’ll see it through. For hope will never, ever fail, And light will over night prevail, See, God poured love into our hearts, His Spirit saves us from the dark.

Bobbye this is such a deep write. But the hope I have, will never come, because no one wants to know the truth, at least where my good name and honor are concerned. Because of who I am, and what I need to yet accomplish for my life's goal, Milwaukee city, and Milwaukee county, Wisconsin, took away my honor, soiled my good name, and now my word means nothing and the only job I can get is driving a taxi, which I like, but I would have loved to have had the choice tho. God has given me accepting friends here in AD, and in the building I am moving back into. My family? Well they just use me for whatever money they can get outof me, then the rest of the month, the shun me like I have Bubonic plague or something worse. Whether you agree with me, as to what I have to do with my life to be complete in body and soul, or not, makes no difference, as long as you can accept me as a human being, and a child of God the Father. T hnx for sharing this poem tho, I really dolike it, and it will make a nice addition to Rainbow of Hope. May the Lord Jesus bless you, and those that you love, and be with you always, and at your sidew constantly. You know this is so true and I did this when it was really bad for me in 2000. I see you went to Randolph Macon Women's college that is in my state. This is a fine poem.
