A poem about life, death, reincarnation the time between Convent and the Rose and Riley's Gift.
. OLD OF OLD Down in Presidio, there's a woman called Old of Old...... and she tells a story, one that's never been told ...about a rose that blooms on the border; one that never will die... A woman's love for a man that never will say goodbye...
she was a child of the wind...He was a man among men...True to the star on his chest...., this gunfighter was one of the Rangers best...Under cover he came to this old border town,..looking for outlaws, hoping to track them down...
He met a girl and they fell in love, but it couldn't be...for it was crossed by the stars up above..... Young and foolish, she made a mistake...What was true love has now turned to hate....There's no going back, it's much to late...for he lost his life and she lost her soul....Blame it on Curiosity, blame it on gold....but the truth must be told...They had a great love to give...but love without trust, it just couldn't live....
They say that she walked the sands of time, for a hundred years or more...praying to undo the things that had gone on before...Her tears of repentance fell like rain....the earth felt her sorrow, her pain,... so it sent a rose to bloom in memory of the love that she couldn't let go...
It's petals were soft as a kiss...its fragerance sweet in the wind...The stars and the moon gave it light, forever living, never to end...
Old timers say you can see it in the darkest of night, but's its pathway you never can find....
So, if you hear her crying, please say a prayer, please be kind ..to the one who lost her soul and her mind....
They say that one day Heaven had mercy, and the angels set her free...but she's still bound by a great mystery...
I know that someday she'll come back to this old border town, looking for her true love, hoping that he can be found..
This story is true that I've told....I know because I'm Old of Old.

Roses bloom on a bush again and again each year and finally are wanted by someone to freshin up their life and home. Roses are symbols at weddings, funerals and all, so this rose you have in honor of you should be passed around for all to see and read this write is necessary to understand miracles do happen in life.
